Lately I've been debating again: should I move everything to L2 just to save some gas? Honestly, my current compromise is: small, frequent daily transactions on L2, and only use the mainnet for two things—large transfers / final storage, and occasionally interacting with protocols that I feel safer on the mainnet. The L2 experience is indeed smooth, but cross-chain transfers are the most prone to issues. I’d rather pay a bit more gas to sleep well at night.
Also, seeing everyone compare RWA and US bond yields to on-chain yield products makes me more cautious: the returns look similar, but the risk boundaries are definitely different. Anyway, my own rule remains the same: prioritize staying alive first, then talk about returns. Don’t cut corners on transaction fees and end up digging yourself into a hole.
