🚨 Iran-US Conflict Escalates – Markets on Edge

In a major breakdown of the ceasefire, U.S. forces launched airstrikes on Iran’s coastal positions and oil tankers in the early hours of May 8 (local time). Iran’s Revolutionary Guard quickly responded with ballistic missiles, anti-ship cruise missiles, and drones, striking U.S. naval vessels east of the Strait of Hormuz.

Tehran claims to have repelled three U.S. destroyers, inflicting “significant losses.”

Market reaction:

Oil prices reversed a 7% drop triggered by earlier ceasefire hopes, snapping back sharply.

U.S. stocks erased gains as risk-off sentiment swept through markets.

The Strait of Hormuz—a critical chokepoint for global energy supplies—is once again a flashpoint. Volatility for risk assets looks set to remain high in the near term.

🔍 Stay cautious. Geopolitical risk is back front and center.
