What to do after stopping loss
Getting stopped out feels like being slapped in the face.
If it happens three or four times in a row, it feels like being pressed to the ground and beaten.
Two weeks ago, I experienced this: four consecutive stop losses, losing about 15%.
At that moment, I only had one thought—"recover the losses."
I almost went all-in to chase back.
Later, I forced myself to do three things:
1. Turn off the computer, go out for an hour
2. Review the trading records, identify the issues with each trade
3. Reduce the position back to the initial level and start over
These three steps seem simple, but actually doing them is very difficult. Especially the first one—admitting you lost and leaving the market.
But you know what? That day, I didn’t chase in, and the next day, the market continued to fall.
If I had chased, I would have lost more than 30%, not just 15%.
What do you do after stopping loss? Do you chase? Honestly.
