The 2026 Beijing Xiangshan Forum Pre-Meeting opened in Beijing on the 8th.
This pre-meeting is jointly hosted by the Chinese Academy of Military Sciences and the Chinese International Strategy Society, with the theme “Global Security Governance: Challenges and Solutions,” inviting over 120 official representatives, experts, and scholars from more than 40 countries and international organizations to participate.
During the conference, delegates will discuss important topics such as “International Order and International Rule of Law,” “New Challenges to Security in the Asia-Pacific,” “Responsibilities for Maintaining International Common Security,” and “Risk Management of Emerging Technologies in Military Applications.”
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Xiangshan Forum in Beijing, and the pre-meeting will also hold a special session titled “The Role of International Forums in Global Security Governance—20th Anniversary Commemorative Special Exchange of the Beijing Xiangshan Forum,” inviting representatives from renowned global defense and security think tanks to jointly review the two-decade history of the Xiangshan Forum and explore its unique value in promoting equal dialogue, building consensus, and resolving differences in international security forums.
