Insider: It is expected that Iraqi officials will officially respond today with an assessment and feedback on the U.S. proposal at 2 p.m.

Mars Finance News, May 8 — According to Pakistani sources, Iran is currently reviewing the U.S. response to the 14-point proposal. The 14-point proposal aims to formally end hostilities and open a 30-day negotiation window to discuss Iran’s nuclear program, sanctions relief, and the security passage through the Strait of Hormuz in detail. Pakistani diplomatic sources say that Iranian officials are expected to formally respond on May 8, while the U.S. is waiting for Iran’s stance on key issues. Recently, Iran, through mediation by Pakistan, submitted a new plan containing the 14-point proposal to the U.S., mainly including ensuring no further military aggression, U.S. military compensation payments, and establishing a new management mechanism for the Strait of Hormuz. On May 2, Trump stated that he would soon evaluate Iran’s new plan but “cannot imagine” that the plan “can be accepted.” (CCTV News)
