NVIDIA will invest up to $2.1 billion in IREN to jointly deploy large-scale data centers

According to a May 7 statement, data center developer IREN agreed to grant NVIDIA a five-year subscription right, allowing it to purchase up to 30 million shares at a strike price of $70 per share. The two sides will also jointly deploy computing power worth tens of billions of dollars. As part of the agreement, NVIDIA will invest up to $2.1 billion in IREN. In addition, the two sides announced the signing of a $3.4 billion AI cloud services contract to acquire and deploy NVIDIA Blackwell processors, with plans to gradually increase NVIDIA infrastructure by up to 5 gigawatts in the future.
