These days I’ve seen L2s arguing over TPS/fees/subsidies again, it’s quite lively, but I always have a thought: what you see as “on-chain” might already be a half beat behind. Node synchronization, RPC queuing, indexer refresh… sometimes I stare at the browser thinking the funds haven’t arrived, but actually it’s the RPC I’m connected to that’s stuck, or the indexer hasn’t caught the latest block yet, and my emotions get triggered first.
So my current simple way to avoid impulsive orders: first switch between two or three RPCs/different browsers to compare, then wait for one confirmation (even just a few more seconds), and casually close the order page to go get a glass of water. Honestly, I’d rather miss a little volatility than get caught in a “delayed display” situation and turn myself into a trader chasing highs and selling lows. Anyway, losing is part of the game, but don’t lose because of this low-level romanticism of information delay.
