BlockBeats News, May 8 — The U.S. Central Command issued a statement saying that on May 7, when the U.S. Navy missile destroyers passed through the Strait of Hormuz en route to the Gulf of Oman, the U.S. military intercepted an unprovoked attack by Iran and conducted a self-defense counterattack. When the destroyers “Truxtun,” “Rafael Peralta,” and “Mason” passed through this international waterway, Iranian forces launched multiple missiles, drones, and dispatched several small boats. (The attack) caused no damage to U.S. military assets.

The U.S. Central Command neutralized the incoming threat and struck Iranian military facilities responsible for the attack, including missile and drone launch sites, command and control centers, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance nodes. The Central Command does not intend to escalate the situation but has prepared deployments and is ready to protect U.S. forces at any time. (Jin10)
