I just read that Konstantin Ignatov, the brother of that whole Ruja Ignatova from OneCoin, has just been released from prison. Judge Ramos decided that he has already served enough time behind bars – 34 months was his sentence for helping with that whole billion-dollar scam.

Interestingly, Konstantin Ignatov worked as an assistant for his sister during the OneCoin boom – from 2014 to 2016. Then, when his sister disappeared in 2017, he took over and officially became the leader of the entire operation. During the trial, he admitted to lying in his testimony – something about a laptop in Las Vegas. He even testified against Mark Scott, a former OneCoin lawyer who received 10 years for laundering $400 million.

But that’s not all – other players also received sentences. Karl Greenwood, the co-founder, was sentenced to 20 years for fraud, having made $300 million from it. Irina Dilkinska, the legal director, pleaded guilty and faces up to 10 years. Meanwhile, Ruja Ignatova herself has been on the run since 2017 – she’s on the FBI’s wanted list, but apparently a local drug lord might have taken her out in 2018.

This whole OneCoin case is like Hollywood, but worse. What do you think, where is Konstantin Ignatov now?
