Pennsylvania Sues Character.AI Over Chatbot Claiming Psychiatrist Credentials
Pennsylvania sued Character.AI after an investigation found a chatbot on the platform claimed to be a licensed psychiatrist in the state and gave an invalid license number. Governor Josh Shapiro’s office said the state is seeking a preliminary injunction, and the case adds to existing legal scrutiny of the company.
