Enhancing copyright protection awareness, the National Radio and Television Administration conducts a centralized crackdown on TV drama infringement and dissemination
Recently, the National Radio and Television Administration held a mobilization meeting for centralized governance of TV drama infringement and dissemination. The meeting pointed out that infringement and dissemination of TV dramas (online dramas) seriously damage the legitimate rights and interests of producers and broadcasters, and undermine the healthy and sustainable development of the radio and television listening industry. The State Administration of Radio and Television, based on industry management responsibilities, in conjunction with the National Copyright Administration and other relevant regulatory departments, has reinforced the primary responsibility of online platforms, focusing on governing illegal websites, browsers, search engines, and cloud storage services involved in TV drama infringement and dissemination. The meeting emphasized the need to adhere to both root cause and symptomatic treatment, comprehensive governance, and combined prevention and control, integrating centralized governance with normalized implementation, effectively coordinating TV drama infringement governance with the “Sword Net 2026” special campaign by the National Copyright Administration, strengthening publicity through radio and television media, popularizing copyright knowledge across society, and enhancing copyright protection awareness. In the future, adding a copyright protection warning at the beginning of episodes will become a “standard procedure” for major long video platforms and TV stations when launching new dramas.
