Iranian senior official says U.S. 14-point plan is "impractical," emphasizes negotiations must include "tangible benefits"

Golden Finance reports that on May 7th, according to The Wall Street Journal citing Iran’s Press TV, Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei’s long-time advisor and former Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commander, Mohsen Rezaei, stated that Iran will not allow the United States to reopen the Strait of Hormuz based on an “unrealistic plan” and then withdraw from the war “without paying any compensation for all the damages caused to Iran.” This statement was directed at Washington’s submission of the 14-point plan to Iran through diplomatic representatives. Rezaei emphasized that for negotiations between Iran and the U.S. to yield satisfactory results, they must include “tangible interests,” rather than the kind of “superficial posture” the U.S. attempts to offer. He said that even if the U.S. withdraws troops from the region, Iran will still demand its rights and war reparations. Rezaei also stated, “We have endured them for 47 years and will continue to take the path of resistance.”
