From Death Row Inmate to National Hero.

Babak Zanjani spent years in prison on death row until last year when Iranian authorities suddenly decided to release him.
The reason was Iran was facing U.S. economic sanctions, with many bank accounts and related companies frozen.
So the authorities thought of this businessman who had previously helped Iran sell oil, convert the proceeds into cash, and bypass the sanctions to bring foreign currency back to Iran.
Although he had been sentenced to death in Iran for suspected corruption and fraud against the government.
But last year, Iran suddenly changed his death sentence to immediate release because the country needed him.
The U.S. Treasury Department accused this guy of earning foreign exchange for Iran since 2022 through two cryptocurrency exchanges, with about 1 billion USD worth of crypto flowing through related exchanges in just two years, ultimately ending up with organizations linked to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.
