Coinbase x402 Payment Protocol natively integrated into Amazon AI Intelligent Agent Payment Core

According to DataPulse Beating Monitoring, Coinbase announced the native integration of its x402 payment protocol and wallet infrastructure into Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Payments (AI agent payment core). This is AWS’s first time providing developers with native encrypted micro-payment capabilities on a mainstream cloud platform, helping enterprise AI Agents autonomously discover services, complete payments with USDC, and execute tasks, while also offering full compliance governance, budget controls, and audit traceability. Settlements can be completed on Base and Solana in approximately 200 milliseconds, with fees of less than a penny, and no accounts, subscriptions, or checkout pages required.

This solution enables enterprises to securely grant AI Agents “financial autonomy”: completing payments through a single API call (Agents cannot access private keys), setting temporary budget limits (such as $1 within 5 minutes), and providing an integrated anti-money laundering and sanctions screening, along with an end-to-end logging dashboard, from Coinbase. It has already been integrated with thousands of x402 services (such as Exa, Messari, etc.), supporting Agents’ real-time search and on-demand pay-per-use. x402 is an open-source neutral protocol governed by the x402 Foundation. It has processed more than 169 million payments, and this partnership marks a major breakthrough in Agentic Commerce (agent commerce) moving from concept to enterprise deployment.
