Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Chief: Traditional Finance Will Absorb DeFi, More Optimistic About Public Chain Development Direction
On May 7, Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Chief Jed Finn stated at the Miami Consensus 2026 conference that he expects TradFi to absorb DeFi rather than be disrupted by it. In five years, there will no longer be something called DeFi; it will simply be called Finance.
He also expressed optimism about the development direction of public blockchains, stating that private chain models will face significant challenges. Additionally, Morgan Stanley will launch a new product within a few weeks. This product allows clients to transfer their crypto assets held on external platforms into Morgan Stanley and convert them into corresponding ETFs, and they can use these as collateral for loans without selling, avoiding tax obligations.
