Last night, I saw a bunch of push notifications about PFP "Upgrade Membership Benefits," which basically means you have to queue to join the group just to change your avatar... For someone like me who loves and fears bridges, my immediate reaction is: the more mysterious the benefits sound, the more I want to ask, "Who will back me up when it expires?"

I think the long-term value of PFP/membership/brands isn't about storytelling; it's about three small things: whether the benefits can be verified on-chain (not just relying on screenshots and admin mood), whether there is a buffer period/voting when rules change (not saying lifetime today and changing to seasonal tomorrow), and most importantly, whether the contracts and multi-signature permissions are converging—no endless "upgradable" features that eventually become arbitrarily changeable. Attention comes quickly, but slow patching is deadly.

Recently, modular and DA layer narrative developers are pretty excited, and it's normal for users to be confused—no matter how new the concept is, when it comes to memberships, it boils down to: what exactly do I get for the money I paid, and can I take it away? Anyway, I’d rather buy small projects with clear rules and limited permissions than chase after those trending daily but with maze-like terms. That’s all for now.
