I've noticed that many newcomers to crypto don't understand the difference between various types of trading. Let's clarify what spot trading of cryptocurrencies is and why it remains the most popular way to work with assets in the market.

Essentially, spot trading is when you buy or sell cryptocurrency right here and now. No need to wait for something to happen. You see the price, click a button, and the asset is transferred to your account. It's similar to regular stock market trading, where traders operate throughout the day. NASDAQ, for example, is also a spot market. Spot trading in cryptocurrencies attracts people precisely because of its simplicity — no need to understand complex contracts or leverage management.

Why is this convenient? First, if you think the price is about to soar, you simply buy. If you believe it will fall, you sell. No extra conditions. Second, you receive a real asset, not just a bet on the price direction. This means you can take advantage of any market opportunity as it appears, without time restrictions. And this works well for both short-term and long-term strategies.

But not everything is so rosy. The main enemy of crypto spot trading is volatility. Prices can jump wildly and unpredictably day by day. This is dangerous for those who don't know when to enter and exit. Plus, you can only trade with the money you have in your account. No borrowing, as on traditional markets. And there are also fees — for exchange, deposit, withdrawal. Over time, they eat into your profits.

How not to lose? Here’s what really works. First — discipline. Don’t jump on every movement. Look at charts, analyze market sentiment, check open interest, track events. Second — forget about FOMO. This is one of the main mistakes of beginners. The fear of missing out makes people do stupid things. Don’t catch a falling knife. Third — use DCA if you want to minimize risk. Set your goals, define support and resistance levels, regularly lock in profits. And most importantly — never trade emotionally. Trading is controlled by your head, not your heart.

Spot trading is not a way to get rich quickly. It’s a tool for those willing to learn and work systematically. If you’re a beginner, start here. Study how the market works, gain experience, then move on to more complex instruments. The main thing — trade safely and consciously.
