I recently noticed a pretty interesting investment trend. Naval Ravikant, co-founder of AngelList, has launched a new fund called USVC, doing something that was hard to imagine before — lowering the barrier to Pre-IPO investments to $500.

What does this mean? Previously, only institutions and high-net-worth investors could access investment opportunities in private growth companies. Now, ordinary people can participate as well. Naval Ravikant’s move targets companies like OpenAI and xAI, which have huge valuations but are not yet publicly listed. In other words, it opens the growth benefits of the private market to retail investors.

From a certain perspective, this reflects a larger change — the democratization of investing. Investment opportunities used to be highly asymmetric; now, the barriers are gradually decreasing. As a veteran in angel investing, Naval Ravikant clearly sees the potential in this direction.

Interestingly, the opening of the Pre-IPO channel is not just about the amount; it’s also about the redistribution of information and opportunities. If this model continues to develop, related sectors may see a wave of new participants. Worth paying attention to.
