Sam Altman treats AI’s mission of “benefiting all of humanity” as a scam—using other people’s money to build his own empire....
New court evidence in the Musk vs. OpenAI lawsuit has been released. After reading these details, I genuinely feel that Sam Altman and Brockman are extremely indecent...🤮
In 2017, during a brazen operation, Sam used Musk’s money to build OpenAI (which at the time was a non-profit), while privately stuffing a $10 million equity stake from his own family office into Brockman. The purpose was to win him over so that he would “listen to Sam.”
After Brockman was caught by Musk’s family office, his response was, “Musk is too busy to schedule a meeting”? What kind of nonsense excuse is that.
Next, after being removed by the board in November 2023, Sam went on a frenzy of sending messages to the CTO, Mira Murati, to pressure her. He secretly planned to have Microsoft acquire OpenAI in full in exchange for his return. Court documents show that Mira directly replied, “The board is already convinced that you should be gone.” But in the end, Sam still managed to get back in, relying on Microsoft’s pressure.
Brockman took the stand and admitted that the value of his equity was close to $30 billion (about 234 billion TWD), but “not a single cent was invested.” In a private diary from 2017, he wrote: “We promised to be a non-profit, and then three months later we’ll make it profitable—that’s a lie,” and “We were dishonest with Musk.” And this guy can still stand on the moral high ground...
Treating AI’s “benefiting all of humanity” as a scam and using other people’s money to build his own empire. With people like this controlling OpenAI, it’s truly worrying.
