During the meeting, Ren Hongbin met with Pedroza, Executive Director of the APEC International Secretariat, and with ABAC representatives from the United States, New Zealand, South Korea, Canada, and other countries attending the event. They exchanged views on topics including jointly advancing and deepening cooperation under APEC’s “China Year,” and contributing high-quality business community outcomes to the Leaders’ Meeting. Ren Hongbin also invited representatives from various economies to take part in the APEC Business Leaders China Forum to be held in Beijing in June, the 4th Chain Expo, and the APEC Business Leaders Summit to be held in Shenzhen in November, so as to contribute the wisdom and strength of the business community to building an Asia-Pacific community and promoting shared prosperity. While in Mexico, Ren Hongbin also met separately with Mexican Economy Minister Ebrard, the Chair of the Mexico–China Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Mexican House of Representatives Vasquez, and Chairman of the Mexican Foreign Trade Committee Contreras, among other political and business figures. He actively promoted the spirit of the National Two Sessions and the concept for hosting APEC’s “China Year,” stressing that China is willing to work with Mexico to tap into cooperation potential between the two countries’ business communities, strengthen coordinated development of industrial and supply chains, jointly safeguard free trade and multilateralism, and achieve a higher level of mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.
