Fujian: Actively promote a batch, plan a batch of key projects for integrated development between Fujian and Taiwan

On April 12th, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China authorized the release of ten policy measures to promote cross-strait exchange and cooperation. According to the Fujian Development and Reform Commission, Fujian Province will focus on the deployment of the “Ten Policies,” emphasizing the upgrading of cross-strait economic and trade industry cooperation platforms, facilitating the development of Taiwan agricultural and fishing industries, and improving and expanding small-scale transaction markets with Taiwan; at the same time, actively promoting a batch of key projects for Fujian-Taiwan integrated development, focusing on the needs and expectations of Taiwanese compatriots and enterprises, and reserving a batch of pilot policies, continuously deepening integration across various fields, so that more compatriots on both sides can share the fruits of integrated development. Currently, Fujian has achieved stable water supply to Kinmen, water supply to Matsu via shipping, and has the conditions for power supply to Kinmen and gas shipping; the mainland side projects of the Xiamen-Kinmen and Fuzhou-Matsu bridges have been included in the “National Highway Network Plan,” and are being accelerated. Moving forward, the principle of prioritizing people’s livelihood will be upheld, actively communicating and negotiating with Kinmen and Matsu, maturing and advancing one project at a time. Additionally, regarding the construction of the cross-strait integrated development demonstration zone, Fujian will base its efforts on the positioning of the demonstration zone, focusing on infrastructure connectivity, smooth economic and trade exchanges, and shared public services, proactively pioneering and testing, optimizing the business environment involving Taiwan, ensuring equal treatment for Taiwanese investments, enterprises, and compatriots, and promoting tangible progress in the construction of the cross-strait integrated development demonstration zone.
