Jin10 Data, May 8 — The U.S. Central Command issued a statement saying that on May 7, when the U.S. Navy missile destroyers passed through the Strait of Hormuz en route to the Gulf of Oman, U.S. forces intercepted an unprovoked attack by Iran and conducted a self-defense counterattack. As the destroyers "Truxtun," "Rafael Peralta," and "Mason" passed through this international waterway, Iranian forces launched multiple missiles, drones, and dispatched several small boats. (The attack) caused no damage to U.S. assets. The U.S. Central Command neutralized the threat and struck Iranian military facilities responsible for the attack, including missile and drone launch sites, command and control centers, and signals, surveillance, and reconnaissance nodes. The Central Command has no intention of escalating the situation but has prepared deployments and is ready to protect U.S. forces at any time.
The U.S. Trade Court has ruled that the 10% global tariff measures implemented by U.S. President Trump are invalid, stating that the sweeping tariff increases lack a legal basis.
This February 20, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the large-scale tariff measures carried out by the Trump administration under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act lack explicit legal authorization.
After the decision was released, Trump, citing Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974, announced a 10% “global import tariff” on goods from all countries and regions, effective for 150 days.
Jin10 Data, May 8 — A reporter from Fox News revealed that a senior US official stated that just now (early morning Beijing time on the 8th), the United States launched a military strike on Iran's Gishtam Port and Abadan Port, but he also added that this is not a resumption of war or the termination of a ceasefire agreement.
The attack on Iran's oil ports occurred two days after Iran launched 15 ballistic missiles and cruise missiles at the Emirati port of Fujeirah.
Previously, senior Pentagon officials stated on Tuesday that Iran's attack did not reach the level of violating the ceasefire agreement and described it as a "low-intensity attack."
