So Trump's been going after CBS News again, and this time it's pretty heated. Just saw that he and his press secretary Caroline Levitt basically tore into anchor Margaret Brennan on camera. They called her "stupid" and "annoying" during an interview—pretty brutal stuff. Apparently, Brennan was grilling Secretary of State Marco Rubio pretty hard, and Trump didn't like how aggressive she was being. He even said Rubio shouldn't do interviews with her anymore.
But here's where it gets interesting. This whole thing with Margaret Brennan is actually part of a bigger pattern. Trump's been feuding with CBS for a while now, especially over how they edited Kamala Harris's 60 Minutes segment. He's also taken shots at Nora O'Donnell, basically saying any random woman off the street could do her job better.
Now, O'Donnell recently moved from hosting the Evening News to Sunday Morning and 60 Minutes. And get this—her salary is reportedly $3.8 million annually now. But when she was doing the evening slot, she was making $8 million. That's wild. People on social media are losing it over these numbers. How does a news anchor make that much? Trump sarcastically fired back saying if they paid her $12 million a year, she'd quit anyway.
The whole thing's pretty revealing about the tension between Trump and mainstream media. Some people are saying he's too focused on calling out individual journalists and should probably pick his battles better. But that's not really his style, is it? The Margaret Brennan situation just shows how personal these media disputes have gotten. Whether it's about interview tactics or salary controversies, this stuff keeps the political media space pretty spicy.
