Honestly, for a long time I also tried to catch the perfect moment to enter crypto. I bought at the peaks, and then panicked during dips. Then I realized one simple thing—DCA is a lifesaver for those who are tired of this circus.
For those who are not in the know: DCA is a strategy where you invest the same amount through fixed time intervals. For example, every week or month you put the same amount into crypto, regardless of whether it’s expensive right now or cheap.
Why does it work? First, you simply stop worrying about what entry level to choose. There’s no attempt to catch the bottom. Second, the math works in your favor. When the price drops, you buy more coins for the same amount. When it rises—you buy fewer. As a result, your average entry price turns out much better than if you had invested everything at once.
Here’s a simple example. Suppose you have $300 for Bitcoin. Option one—you dumped it all at once in январе at 10 thousand per BTC. You got 0.03 BTC. End of story.
Option two—you spread it out over three months with $100 each. January, Bitcoin at 10 thousand, bought 0.01 BTC. February, it fell to 8 thousand, bought 0.0125 BTC. March, it rose to 12 thousand, bought about 0.0083 BTC. In total you have 0.0308 BTC, but your average entry price is around 9700 per coin instead of 10 thousand. It looks like a small difference, but over large sums and long periods it provides a serious advantage.
Plus, DCA is just convenient. You don’t have to sit in charts at night and try to guess when the next crash will happen. Set up automatic purchases and forget about it. The money works by itself.
The strategy is suitable for people who believe in the long-term potential of Bitcoin, Ethereum, or other assets, but don’t want to take risks by putting everything in at once. This is especially useful for beginners who are only just starting to figure out crypto.
To be honest, I’m doing exactly this right now. Every month, I put the same amount into Bitcoin and Ethereum. Much less stress, better results. I recommend trying it if you haven’t yet. There’s no magic here—just discipline and time doing their thing.
