Recently, I've seen many people around me worried about debt, with creditors blocking their doors every day, making life especially difficult. To be honest, I’ve also gone through similar times before, and I’ve come to realize that there’s no shortcut to turning your debt around; the key is to be ruthless.

First, you have to admit a harsh reality: you are not qualified to care about face. I’ve seen too many people dragged down by this concept of "face," ending up sinking deeper and deeper. Have a car? Sell it. Those designer bags and jewelry? Get rid of them to cash out. Items that can be liquidated on second-hand platforms should be sold quickly—this isn’t shameful, it’s saving yourself. The most crucial thing is to plug those high-interest "blood holes," or else just the accumulating interest will crush you completely.

Then, you need to give up unrealistic fantasies. I’ve seen too many people trying to gamble their way to a comeback, only to lose more; or being brainwashed by pyramid schemes and scams, thinking they can get rich overnight. These ideas will destroy you. Real recovery doesn’t rely on luck; it’s about taking one step at a time. Delivering food, driving for Didi, doing part-time writing—any legitimate job that earns money is worth doing.

Next is the most testing phase—endurance. Eat cheap boxed meals, wear clothes from street stalls costing only a few dozen yuan, every penny must be carefully calculated. Some might think living like this is too hard, but think about it—days without debt are truly sweet. As long as you can endure this period, the light is just ahead.

Once the basic tough days pass, it’s time to pave the way for the future. Use your spare time to learn new skills, study industry trends. You can learn about social media, short videos, or explore marketing and promotion to find side opportunities, or even improve your professional skills to find a higher-paying job. Step by step, as you can steadily make your monthly income greater than your expenses, the question of how to turn your debt around will truly have an answer.

Honestly, many people lose not because their methods are wrong, but because they lack that ruthless determination. If you’re still dreaming of getting rich overnight, still caring about pointless face, still living a hedonistic life—sorry, you will never turn things around. Only by letting go of burdens and gritting your teeth to persist can you step out of the predicament one step at a time. Debt is not the end; giving up is. Keep going.
