U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, announced on Tuesday (5/5) local time that he will temporarily suspend the Freedom Project and officially end military operations against Iran.

This announcement also serves as the government's legal step to avoid the obligation to seek war authorization from Congress.
According to regulations, conflicts exceeding 60 days require legislative approval, but with the war status declared "ended" due to a ceasefire, the legal pressure also subsides.
Meanwhile, quoting from Donald Trump's official account on the social media platform Social Truth, the Freedom Project has been temporarily halted for a short period at the request of Pakistan and several other countries.
This is to see whether Iran is willing to cooperate by signing an agreement with the U.S.
As a note, the Freedom Project is a U.S. military operation to monitor vessel movements in the Strait of Hormuz.
