Chatting casually with an old doctor during a check-up.

I said: "Nowadays, many illnesses can actually heal without medication, like common colds.
But it seems hospitals still keep prescribing drugs nonstop."
The old doctor was writing a medical record, paused for a moment, and didn’t lift his head:
"Not prescribing medicine, how do you expect the pharmaceutical companies to survive?"
I said: "What about the patients?"
He finally looked up at me and said: "Patients? Patients aren’t just our family’s."
