Crypto Globe News, an institutional analysis said that the global mature process faces a shift in the supply-and-demand landscape. Since the second half of 2025, TSMC and Samsung, the two leading wafer foundries, have cut back output of 8-inch capacity; coupled with the ongoing growth in demand for power management and power from AI servers, the average 8-inch capacity utilization rate among the world’s top 10 wafer foundry manufacturers is expected to have rebounded to nearly 90% by 2026. Not only has the 8-inch capacity utilization rate and the contract pricing stopped falling and rebounded, but the 12-inch mature process is also expected to be boosted by TSMC’s production cut plans, driving more outsourcing orders. Although the 12-inch mature process has not yet seen a situation of supply falling short of demand, in the medium to long term, TSMC’s order spillover effects may lead Tier 2 wafer fabs to again signal to customers their intention to raise prices in the second half of 2026.
