Elon Musk announces the dissolution of the independent entity xAI, rebranding it as SpaceXAI
According to Beating Monitoring, Elon Musk stated on X that xAI will be deregistered as an independent company and will subsequently operate under the name SpaceXAI, positioned as a product line of AI under SpaceX.
This statement appeared on the same day that SpaceX and Anthropic announced their Colossus 1 computing power collaboration, with the collaboration announcement directly using the name SpaceXAI.
In February of this year, when SpaceX acquired xAI through a full stock transaction, xAI had informed employees that there would be no name change in the short term.
Additionally, Musk also said that the model training for SpaceXAI has been migrated to a larger-scale Colossus 2 cluster, so the more than 220k Nvidia GPUs from Colossus 1 were leased to Anthropic.
