The European Union urges the United States to restore last year's trade agreement tariff arrangements

On the 5th, the European Commission said that Maroš Šefčovič, the Commissioner in charge of trade and economic security at the European Union, has urged the United States to quickly restore the tariff arrangements agreed under last year’s EU–U.S. trade agreement.

That day, Šefčovič met in Paris, France, with U.S. Trade Representative Greer. The European Commission said Šefčovič called for the rapid restoration of the provisions of the EU–U.S. trade agreement that the two sides had agreed on, including a 15% tariff on goods exported from the EU to the United States, while keeping the exception arrangements agreed with the EU. The European Commission also urged that the main provisions of the agreement be implemented as soon as possible before the one-year anniversary of the signing at the end of July. (Xinhua)
