A U.S. federal court sentenced Marlon Ferro to 78 months in prison for helping a social engineering ring steal more than $250 million in crypto assets. The Department of Justice said Ferro also received three years of supervised release and was ordered to pay $2.5 million in restitution after pleading guilty to racketeering conspiracy. Prosecutors said Ferro broke into homes to steal hardware wallets when other members could not trick victims or hack their accounts.
