The U.S. Space Force awards contracts worth $3.2 billion to 12 companies to develop space-based interceptor prototypes

The U.S. Space Force, under President Trump’s “Golden Shield” plan, awarded contracts worth up to $3.2 billion to 12 companies, including Lockheed Martin and Space Exploration Technologies Corp., for the development of space-based interceptor prototype systems. These interceptors are intended to destroy enemy missiles outside Earth’s atmosphere and are a key component of the “Golden Shield” plan, but they have not yet been validated. Other companies awarded contracts include Anduril Industries, Booz Allen Hamilton, and General Dynamics. (Cailian Press)
