Crypto界网消息，Bermuda Prime Minister David Burt stated at the 2026 Consensus Miami that Bermuda is expanding its "On-Chain Economy" initiative by distributing USDC stablecoins to residents and introducing local merchants to accept digital payments, promoting stablecoins into everyday commerce. This year, the Bermuda government plans to conduct another USDC airdrop in conjunction with the Bermuda Digital Finance Forum 2026 next week, where participants will receive stablecoins via their wallets and be able to spend at local merchants. Burt said the program aims to build payment infrastructure outside traditional card networks and banking rails to reduce transaction costs for small businesses and improve access to financial applications.
