Canton Ecosystem Reaches a Milestone: Proof Group Successfully Validates 100k TPS Breakthrough Scalability

Recently, the Canton ecosystem announced a significant technological milestone. The technology service provider Proof Group disclosed that, in close collaboration with a major financial institution, it successfully achieved a performance of approximately 100k TPS (transactions per second) in a specific super validator use case test.
It is reported that the test was conducted at Proof Group's bare-metal data center in San Francisco. The research team used a customized version based on the open-source Canton library, verifying the feasibility of increasing network scalability by adding participating nodes. Proof Group pointed out that 100k TPS is not the performance ceiling; without considering batch processing optimizations, it is expected to surpass 1 million TPS in the future.
This independent research achievement provides technical support for large-scale on-chain financial and payment settlement applications. Currently, the matching engines of major Wall Street exchanges need to process millions of messages per second. The high scalability demonstrated by Canton in this test marks a critical step forward for blockchain technology to meet the demands of the world's top financial markets.
