On April 28, the deputy commander of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy stated that Iran has achieved absolute control over the Strait of Hormuz and requires passing vessels to pay a toll. He emphasized that the territorial sovereignty of the Strait of Hormuz is inviolable, and foreign vessels must adhere to the rules set by Iran when passing through the waterway, including communicating in Persian. He stated, ‘Without the command of the Supreme Leader and the will of the people, Iran will not allow even a single drop of oil to flow out of the strait.’ He also mentioned that the Iranian military is currently ‘with a finger on the trigger’ and in a state of high alert. He claimed that U.S. military hegemony in the Persian Gulf has ended and reiterated that Iran is capable of responding to any form of maritime blockade. (CCTV News)
