European Parliament: There is still a long way to go to advance the implementation of the US-EU trade agreement

Golden Finance reports that on May 7, the Chair of the European Parliament’s Committee on International Trade, Bernd Lange, said on Wednesday that EU lawmakers have made progress in reaching agreement on legislation to implement the US-EU trade agreement, but “there is still a long way to go.” Lange said that the second round of talks with the governments of EU member states has narrowed disagreements regarding parts of the proposed rules, including safeguards and the provisions on how to review and assess the agreement. The European Parliament said in a statement that the negotiating representatives are scheduled to meet again in Strasbourg on May 19. (Dongxin News)
