Tether Launches Modular Bitcoin Mining System to Optimize Energy Efficiency and Cost Control

On April 28, Tether announced the launch of a next-generation modular Bitcoin mining infrastructure designed to enhance energy efficiency, cost control, and scalability through its proprietary high-density computing system. This solution is built on application-specific hashing board modules and developed in collaboration with Canaan Inc. and ACME Swisstech, decoupling computing, power supply, and chassis structure to achieve component-level optimization and flexible upgrades. Compared to traditional integrated mining machines, this design supports on-demand expansion, allows for the replacement of individual components, and improves thermal management efficiency. Tether stated that the new system can combine immersion cooling to reduce energy consumption and operational costs while increasing system availability. This architecture also allows for dynamic performance output adjustments in real operating environments to meet different mining site requirements. This upgrade builds on its previous development of the open-source Mining OS (MOS) and Mining SDK, marking a transition from software control to hardware design, further strengthening its autonomous control capabilities over mining infrastructure.
