Odaily Planet Daily reports that Quantum Security Company Project Eleven released a report stating that the “Q-Day” where quantum computing breaks encryption systems may occur as early as 2030, and is more likely to happen around 2033.

The report points out that quantum capability may erupt in a “non-linear leap” rather than gradual evolution, potentially resulting in a scenario of “long periods of no change, followed by a sudden breakthrough.”

In extreme cases, approximately 6.9 million Bitcoins (worth over $560 billion) could face risks. Currently, the industry has begun exploring response strategies including timestamp proof and forced migration.
