U.S. and Iran Near 14-Clause Memorandum to End War
The White House believes the U.S. and Iran are close to a 14-clause, single-page memorandum of understanding to end the war and open broader nuclear talks. U.S. officials expect Iran’s response on several key issues within the next 48 hours. The current draft says Iran would suspend uranium enrichment, while the U.S. would lift sanctions and release billions of dollars in frozen Iranian assets. The draft would also start a 30-day negotiation period and remove restrictions on transit through the Strait of Hormuz.
