Hengtong Optoelectronics' new generation G.654E optical fiber completes 800G testing and verification

Recently, Hengtong Optoelectronics, in collaboration with China Unicom Research Institute and ZTE Corporation, achieved significant results in the project “Broadband 800G Transmission Capacity Verification of G.654E Optical Fiber for Provincial Backbone/Metropolitan Area Network Applications.” This research-based test simulated typical scenarios such as provincial backbone, metropolitan area network interconnection, and DCI data center interconnection. Using Hengtong’s dedicated G.654E optical fiber for provincial backbone and equipped with ZTE’s 800G OTU equipment, the test successfully demonstrated stable operation of six 800G channels over a transmission distance of 300 km.
