Post-quantum security startup Project Eleven released a report saying that the "Q-Day"—the earliest time when quantum computers could crack modern encryption systems—may arrive as early as 2030, and it believes the probability of relevant breakthroughs occurring before 2033 is "over 50%." Project Eleven estimates that under certain conditions, approximately 6.9 million BTC may face quantum risk. The report says the industry has begun researching post-quantum migration solutions, including proving wallet ownership through timestamps and setting multi-year migration windows to transfer assets to post-quantum addresses, among other measures. Tech companies such as Google are also working on migration plans for post-quantum cryptographic systems, with a target timeline of 2029. (The Block)
