I’ve never been a fan of celebrity worship before, but I got hooked by Sun Yuchen.
Everyone in the crypto world calls him “Sun the Cutter,” but the more I study him, the more I feel that his core trait is one word: winning.
No matter where he’s from, where he is now, who he’s dating, or who his parents are, as long as someone gets in his way, he’ll just discard them.
He’s that kind of person who completely follows the trend; morals, emotions—those are all useless burdens to him.
His goal is always the top priority.
I really admire two things about him: first, his calmness that remains unshaken even if the sky falls; second, his ruthlessness in cutting off relationships.
Honestly, success isn’t that hard to achieve; the prerequisite is to completely cut off the “emotions” part.
Take his ex-girlfriend, for example—once they went through hardships together, but when he got ahead, he thought “our status is different now,” and just abandoned her.
Later, she reported him, saying he was “cruel and heartless, utterly inhumane,” but you can’t deny that he succeeded and had that kind of ruthlessness.
In his eyes, the whole world is an NPC, life is just a game he can play freely, and everything can be used as a resource:
• Spent $4.57 million to buy a lunch with Warren Buffett, then canceled at the last minute;
• Spent $6.2 million on a “banana on the wall” artwork, then ate it on the spot, just saying it was “sweeter than a regular banana.”
He even said himself, “I’m not afraid of being misunderstood; being misunderstood is what gives me influence.”
From launching blockchain projects, to reverse mergers on NASDAQ, to being sued by the SEC and nearly facing heavy penalties—when the wind shifted, the case was simply dropped.
He’s always been exploiting rules, even finding loopholes in them.
