CoinWorld News reports that the U.S. Central Command announced on social media that the U.S. Navy's "George H.W. Bush" aircraft carrier is fully implementing a maritime blockade against Iran. Currently, 52 merchant ships have been instructed to turn around or return to port. Since the U.S. and Israel launched military strikes against Iran on February 28, Iran has blockaded the Strait of Hormuz. The U.S. has enforced a blockade on ships traveling to and from Iranian ports since April 13. Currently, U.S.-Iran negotiations are at an impasse, and navigation through the Strait of Hormuz remains obstructed.
