Recently, I needed to temporarily register for some overseas websites using virtual numbers, and after trying several SMS verification platforms, I finally found some reliable ones. I’ve encountered many pitfalls before—some platforms simply don’t receive messages, others have delays of half a day. I’ve summarized a few decent ones to share with everyone.

Basically, SMS verification platforms provide virtual phone numbers to receive verification codes, charging either per use or monthly subscriptions. Among the ones I’ve used, SMS-Activate and 5SIM perform the best overall, with verification codes arriving within about 10 seconds, covering many countries, making them especially suitable for cross-border application testing. If you mainly use domestic numbers, Super Cloud SMS and XiaoNiao SMS are also good options; US numbers typically take about 10-30 seconds, while domestic numbers are faster, usually arriving in 5-20 seconds. Getsmscode is inexpensive, but some less common platforms may experience delays. All of these SMS verification platforms support API integration, making batch operations convenient.

When using, be aware that shared numbers are easily flagged as risky numbers. If you don’t receive messages, try switching to a different number segment. It’s recommended to prepare several numbers, especially when you need stable registration on a particular website. Also, keep in mind that SMS verification platforms are only for temporary use; don’t rely on them as your main number long-term, as privacy and security are not guaranteed. Additionally, don’t just look at the price when choosing a platform—those with good reputation and high activity are more reliable.
