Just saw that Eugene Shen, co-founder and CTO of Plume Network, passed away earlier this week. Really shocking news honestly. The team posted about it today and you can tell how much he meant to them.

So Eugene Shen graduated from UBC with a degree in engineering physics, then worked at Robinhood during their crypto expansion phase, and later became a senior engineer at dydx before joining Plume in January 2024. His direct supervisor at Robinhood actually gave him props as one of their core crypto engineering team members - someone who could handle high-pressure environments and helped bring other engineers along.

The Plume team's message was pretty emotional. They said Eugene was talented, curious, and poured everything into what he did. They're focused on supporting each other right now and committed to continuing the work he helped build. A lot of projects in the community left condolences in the comments. Eugene Shen clearly made a real impact in a short time. Rough week for the RWA space and everyone who knew him.
