I’ve been studying the people who truly changed the world of trading, and recently I dug deeper into a few legendary traders—finding that their stories are definitely worth paying attention to.
First, let’s talk about this Japanese trader, Takashi Kotegawa. This guy started with $13,000 and, over 8 years, somehow managed to grow it to $153 million—all done right in his own bedroom. This Japanese trader’s experience completely refreshed my understanding of day trading: it shows that you can achieve growth at this level purely through technical skills and psychological toughness.
Next is George Soros. This fellow is directly called the “King of Forex,” because in 1992 he earned $1 billion from a single-day trade—crushing the British pound. Operations at this level have already gone beyond the scope of ordinary trading.
Jim Simons is also quite interesting. He’s nicknamed “the smartest billionaire in the world,” and his fund achieved an average annual return of 71.8% from 1994 to 2014. That kind of consistency is simply unbelievable.
Jesse Livermore’s story is even more legendary: by age 24, he turned $10,000 into $500,000, and by age 30, during the 1907 financial crisis, he was making $1 million per day. This guy really is a legend of Wall Street.
And then there’s Steve Cohen. In 1978, he made $8,000 on his first day of trading, and later went on to become a top hedge fund manager.
When you look at these people’s resumes, you can truly feel that in the market there do exist top-tier traders who can consistently generate profits. Their common traits are a deep understanding of the market, strict risk management, and extremely strong psychological resilience. If you also want to make a breakthrough in trading, these people’s stories are worth studying again and again. Recently, I’ve also been following some related coin price movements on Gate. If you’re interested, we can discuss them together.
