Just scrolled through Bitcoin's January 1st prices over the years and it's wild to see how much the price has shifted. Started at basically nothing back in 2011 at $0.30, then hit $13 in 2013, crashed to $433 in 2016, and kept climbing from there. By 2021 it was at $29k, then jumped to $46k in 2022, and $43k in 2024. Last January it was sitting at $93,958, pretty close to the $87,850 we saw this year. Interesting to look at these snapshots and think about what's changed in the market each year. Right now we're in May and BTC is trading around $81.68k, so it's down from that January peak but still nowhere near where it was years ago. Makes you wonder what the bitcoin price will look like by February 1st next year and beyond. The trajectory over a decade-plus really shows how volatile this space is, but also how much adoption and interest has grown overall.
