Just checked the altcoin season index and it's sitting at 42 right now. For anyone wondering what that means - CoinMarketCap measures this by looking at how the top 100 coins (minus stablecoins) perform against Bitcoin over the last 90 days. Pretty straightforward metric. The thing is, they define an actual altcoin season as when 75% of those coins are beating Bitcoin. At 42, we're nowhere close to that threshold. So yeah, the altcoin season index is basically telling us the market isn't really in altseason mode yet. Mostly just Bitcoin doing its thing while alts are lagging. Not exactly the environment where every alt pumps, if you know what I mean.
