Recently, I encountered issues with the SMS verification platforms again, so I decided to summarize my experience.

Many times, I need to register on overseas websites or test SMS interfaces with a temporary number; buying a new SIM card is too troublesome, so virtual phone number SMS platforms become a lifesaver.
I've tried several platforms before, some of which can't receive verification codes at all, others have delays of half a day.
After struggling for a long time, I found a few that still work, and I want to share them with everyone.

SMS verification platforms are basically services that rent virtual phone numbers to receive SMS messages, charging per use or on a monthly subscription.
Unlike regular numbers, these numbers cover multiple countries and regions worldwide.
After registration, you select the country code segment, bind it to the website you're registering, and the verification code appears directly in the backend.
This not only protects privacy but also makes testing more convenient.

Among the platforms I personally tested, SMS-Activate and 5SIM perform the most reliably, with verification codes arriving within about 10 seconds on average, and they have broad country coverage.
Super Cloud SMS and XiaoNiao SMS are more friendly for domestic applications—US numbers receive codes in 10-30 seconds, and domestic numbers can even get responses in 5-20 seconds, though there are occasional delays during peak times.
Getsmscode is the cheapest, but verification codes from less popular platforms tend to be delayed.

When using virtual phone number SMS platforms, keep a few points in mind:
Some numbers are shared and may have been used by others;
Delays in receiving verification codes are common, especially for less popular applications;
It's recommended to have multiple numbers as backups so you can switch immediately if one becomes invalid;
Never use these as your main long-term numbers—security isn't guaranteed.
If the platform supports a one-click number switch, that’s even more convenient and can prevent waste.

Overall, SMS verification platforms are mainly for testing convenience and privacy protection, suitable for interface debugging or registering secondary accounts.
But remember, these virtual phone number services are only for legal use—never try to use them for illegal activities.
Following the law is the fundamental principle.
