It's interesting to compare the current military capabilities of two countries against their demographics. If we talk about Iran's population, it's about 92 million people, while the neighbor has only 9.5 million. But despite this difference in population size, Iran still appears quite different in terms of armed forces.

In terms of personnel, the picture looks like this: Iran has about 49 million active military personnel ready for combat, while the neighbors maintain around 3.95 million. Iran has 41 million reservists compared to 3.28 million. At first glance, these numbers are impressive, but quality is a separate issue.

Regarding equipment, the situation is more balanced. Iran has 1,713 tanks, while the neighbors have 1,300. Combat helicopters: 188 versus 240. Attack aircraft: 13 versus 48 — here, Iran clearly lags behind. Artillery: 392 systems versus 352.

It's also interesting in the air: Iran has 551 aircraft, while the neighbors have 611. Submarines: 25 versus 5 — this is an asymmetry in the other direction. Against the background of the population, these figures indicate a serious militarization of the economy. It will be interesting to see how long such a level can be maintained under current sanctions.
